Balance While Serving

Often while serving, players will take little steps before they hit their serve. (Sometimes as many as two or three!).  This is often a result of a bad toss.  When serving, the power is generated from the ground up.  A good tool is to serve with both feet on the ground.  If practiced enough times, two things will occur.  1. You will become more selective on your toss (i.e. catch the bad ones)  2. This will loosen up your wrist snap on top for more power.  Once you feel comfortable with this flat platform stance, the next advanced progression will be to start serving as hard as you can while keeping your feet on the ground (not moving your feet at all).  The more this is practiced, the looser your wrist snap will be, adding mph to your serve.  Use this tool for 2 to 3 weeks, and your serve will be more powerful and consistent.
